This “best buy” Whirpool replaced a highly-rated 18-year old GE dishwasher that did a great job all around. The Whirlpool DU1100XTP has a larger load capacity. However the manufacturer ad HYPES the low-water quantity used.

Guess what?

A mere 6 gallon for a big load of dirty dishes, glasses, pots is NOT ENOUGH WATER to rinse the load well! So much for the manuf. “water saving” hype. I’d rather have a washer that uses more water to rinse off the dishes. It’s ridiculous to design a dishwasher the doesn’t use enough water. This leaves particles on the dishes and glassware.

After a normal wash load, I run the dishwasher on RINSE to wash off some of the remaining UNRINSED PARTICLES the normal wash leaves behind. Sometimes even that doesn’t work, and I have to RINSE GLASSWARE BY HAND because particles are still visible on surfaces.

Manufacturer should INCREASE WATER INTAKE per load to AT LEAST 7-8 gallons, not the stingy 6 gals. that won’t rinse well.

This machine is STINKY between washes even if the waiting dishes are rinsed 3-4 times. I’ve tried baking soda, a bit of bleach to try and kill the smell, but it’s impossible. This dishwasher literally –stinks.
