Kitchenaid’s 30-Inch Microwave Hood Combo (KHHS179LSS) is quite a stunning model. The sleek design and Touch Screen LCD Control Interface give this microwave a unique upscale feeling of sophistication. Besides looking really nice, this microwave has a whole slew of advanced cooking technologies. The unit uses something called the Ultima Cook System which is an energy source blending halogen and quartz technology. It also uses the OptimawavePlus System which is a unique microwave distribution technology enhanced by precisely calculated algorithms to help energy distribution for more even heating results. These systems, used in conjunction with the unit’s 1,100 Watts of Cooking Power provide surprisingly good cooking results, giving you quality that’s uncharacteristic of most microwave-cooked food. It comes preset with lots of nice options including, Combination Cycles, Grill Cooking Cycles, Bake Cycles, Melt Cycle, Soften Cycle, Warm Hold Cycle, Auto Reheat, Automatic Defrost, Auto Cook, and Easy Simmer. All of the microwave functions are accessed by an Electronic Control Panel Interactive System w/Learning Mode, meaning the microwave will actually remember specific settings you use most often for certain modes, helping your cooking process to be more streamlined. Everything on the unit is easy to clean. There are 2 washable charcoal and grease filters, and an easy-clean interior. When activated, Electronic Child Lockout Feature disables all electronic control buttons. This safety feature prevents children from accidentally turning on the microwave. Lastly, this microwave comes in tandem with a Recirculating or Vented 4-Speed Fan so the air in your kitchen can stay smoke and odor free.
