I so wish I would have read the reviews here before purchasing this lemon. First clues were, the tines would break off the basket and a whistling sound when I used the sanitize setting. Also, the dishes did not dry. I regret ignoring these first clues…

We bought this dishwasher July 2006 and just 15 months later (Oct 2007) we had an error message and it wouldn’t run. The serviceman was not surprised and knew exactly where to look. A glue used inside the door reacts with the wires and causes it to short out.

We have waited 3 months for a back-ordered part. During this time we were teased with a promise of a new dishwasher, a promise that Best Buy would exchange the dishwasher, and further patronizing conversations with a customer service supervisor.

They refuse to replace the dishwasher because we bought it as an open-box discount (at Best Buy…where we were told at purchase that we would receive the full warranty). Best Buy says they have no program with LG to accept their items as return, past the normal 30 day return. I was told by the LG supervisor to insist that the Best Buy rep go up the chain and investigate because he knows there is such a program. The rep did investigate and also called a few other stores who were victims of customers returning dishwashers that are now not functioning and LG won’t reimburse for them.

Now we have given up and just purchased a Maytag.

LG got what they wanted, but they lost a customer who will warn all who will listen.
