LG DLG5988 Gas Dryer Review Great dryer, but LP users take note

Washers Dryers Review

We bought this dryer new from the home depot in March 2007.

First thing, it’s gas. Huge plus. Dries faster because gas doesn’t have to warm up as electric does.

I love the automatic drying modes. Depending on the settings it can come out extra dry or just damp. That’s fine for me. If I want extra crispy I can use the manual mode.

The time remaining indicator is nice.

It’s ! I don’t understand where the complaints about noise are coming from. This dryer is as a whisper.

Frigidaire AEQ7000ES / AEQ7000EG / AEQ7000EE Electric Dryer Review Very Pleased

Washers Dryers Review

I spent months researching dryer/washer sets before deciding on this one. I am very pleased. It has a very large capacity for a stackable. It is also very - a plus for me because our laundry room is in between our formal dining room and kitchen. The thing that most impresses me about this dryer is its ability to extract pet and lint from our clothes and linens. We have two dogs, so pet is a major issue for us. With my old dryer, I didn’t need to change the lint filter after each use. Now I know why- the pet and lint stayed on our clothes!!! The filter on this dryer is twice the size as my old dryer, but I have to change it after each use. I am happy to do so because I don’t need to use a lint roller anymore. If you have animals, this is definitely the dryer for you. This dryer has many cycles and options, although I don’t know if they are necessary. I must confess, I am not a manual reader, so these various cycles could be time and energy savers. Our clothes are basically wrinkle-free after drying, maybe because I can actually hear the “end of cycle” signal so the clothes don’t just sit in the dryer waiting for me to remember them!!! I also like the Extended Tumble button that keeps the clothes tumbling at the end of the cycle if I know that I won’t be home when the cycle finishes. I don’t know if this dryer necessarily “dries” any better or faster than others I have owned, but it is very easy to use and is very attractive. Even in the longest drying cycle, our clothes have never had that burned smell that sometimes happens when clothes are dried too long, perhaps because this dryer uses sensors to detect moisture levels. The Air Fluff/No Heat option is perfect for our down pillows and comforter- saving money on dry cleaning. The Damp Dry option is great for clothes that are not recommended for the dryer, but would otherwise be too wrinkled if they went from the washer to the hanger. I am certain that if I ever read the owners manual, I will be doubly impressed with this dryer!!! The plastic door seems flimsy, but I haven’t had any problems.

Frigidaire GLER642A Electric Dryer Review Bells and whistle on a budget. It’s still going strong after a year.

Washers Dryers Review

I’ve been using the Frigidaire GLER642A electric dryer for a year now, and it’s still going strong, and I’ve experience none of the snagging and catching problems reported by other users.

By today’s standards, the dryer is pretty simple. It has sensor drying, so there’s no need to guess about how much time that your clothes need to dry. I use the sensor setting for almost all of the loads I dry, and it works well as long as the loads you dry are normal sized. Large loads of heavy items, blankets, towels, etc., may require a little extra drying time, but for most loads, the sensor drying is effective.

LG DLE7177 Electric Dryer Review Love this Dryer

Washers Dryers Review

After raving to my family and friends about the SteamWasher, this dryer was actually given to me as a (very generous) gift! I have not been disappointed. There isn’t too much to say except the clothes come out dry and barely wrinkled. The drying cycle is very short. It is also very and can accomodate a huge amount of clothes!

The rack dry is a nice feature for those “lay flat to dry” sweaters. The dryer does not over-dry the clothes, which for the most part I really like because it makes them easier to fold. On occasion if you want something to come out super fluffy (like towels or blankets) it’s just a matter of pressing a single button to add more time.

GE Profile Harmony DPGT750EC Electric Dryer Review Our opinion on ; GE Profile Harmony set

Washers Dryers Review

We purchased the GE PROFILE HARMONY set on May 16, 2006 with delivery on May 19, 2006. we are very impressed with capacity and efficiency of both the washer and the dryer.

Washer has no center agitator. It instead uses a center disk on the bottom. So far it’s great. It has the large capacity, spin speed and high efficiency of a front loader with the convenience of a top loader. It also takes up less space than the front loader too with no extra pedestal to buy. Also, there is no mildew odor from keeping the washer lid closed like a front loader sometimes gets from keeping it’s door closed. It’s a very nice washer.

GE DCVH515GF / DCVH515GFGG / DCVH515GFWW Gas Dryer Review I got a lemon straight out of the box

Washers Dryers Review

I thought this would be the of both worlds, a large capacity washer but at an affordable price. As soon as I tried using it for the first time it was making terrible loud noises. The service man came out and said that the motor was bad. I couldn’t believe it. But that is not the worst part, the service from GE from here on out has been complete incompetence. They ordered the motor and the service man told me he would be back the next week to it. He comes on the day scheduled and says,”Where’s the part?”. He then explains that GE should have sent the new motor to me not him. Why he didn’t tell me that in the first place…who knows. So we schedule a new appointment and the part comes. The serviceman comes back opens the box for the new part and the motor they sent is bent and broken and yet the box it came in was unharmed. So he says he will order a new part and have it delivered to him so he can check it first. Two more weeks pass. He comes back to put it in but again, doesn’t have the part and now says the part is listed as back ordered. I call GE customer service and tell them that this would be the fifth time he would have to be coming out and that I just want a new dryer. They say that they will put in a request from the parts manager but unless they get authorization that they can’t get the part that they can’t give me a new dryer. They say I should hear back from them the next day. They did not call me back. So I call them and they say they are still waiting to hear from the manager and I would hear from them tomorrow. They do not call me back that day either. I call them again and tell them that I don’t even care if they have the part now- I just want a new dryer. But because they have stalled for 2 days, they now say the part is in the . They tell me there is nothing I can do or say to get a new dryer but they will give me 30 dollars for laundry costs since it has been over a month that I have been without a dryer. I will never buy another GE product.

Asko T731 Electric Dryer Review Non-Existent Customer Service

Washers Dryers Review

I purchased an ASKO T731 dryer and corresponding washer in April 2003. I purchased ASKO over the competition primarily because of the 3 year ‘bumper to bumper’ warranty touted by the salesperson.

The dryer began making a loud screeching sound after approximately six months. The noise only starts after the cycle has been running for approximately 30 minutes. I called the local authorized warranty service to have the repaired. Over the past month, the technician has made three service calls and the problem has not been resolved.

GE Profile Harmony DPGT750EC Electric Dryer Review Try it for yourself, you will love it!!!

Washers Dryers Review

Purchased as companion to the 9350 Washer (GE Harmony) Please feel free to visit that review as well.

After looking into several makes and models we finally making decided to go with this unit in the Charcoal Finish, I am pleased with the choice.

1. The LCD Touch Screen is easily read and sensitive enough to the touch so you will not have to push with much effort at all.

2. The options the unit comes with allows you to choose what type of Dry Cycle you want or need. Including the amount of Dampness, or Dryness you want. For example Silks, Blankets, Wools, Mixed Garments all with its own cycle… They are pre-programmed in so no need to worry.

LG DLE2514 Electric Dryer Review Glad I bought the Extended Warranty

Washers Dryers Review

We purchased our DLE2514 at Home Depot on July 4, 2006. Since we were not familiar with products, we bought the extended warranty, since this dryer is NOTHING but sensors!

The dryer does the job. Nothing spectacular.

I have noticed the clothes being damp when the cycle was done, and would just restart for a few minutes, or change over to manual and let it run for another 20 minutes.

Last weekend, the load ran for over 2 hours, and I finally decided there was a definate problem!

Fisher and Paykel DEIX2 Electric Dryer Review DO NOT BUY JUST JUNK

Washers Dryers Review

This product is a piece of Junk. I ordered one form Lowe’s. The first one they brought would not heat. I tried every setting but the unit would simply tumble the clothes and they would never dry. The second one they brought locked up when the installer plugged it in and displayed “I NEED SERVICE.” Obviously this company has no quality control. The THIRD one they brought would work on the time settings but the unit would not dry clothes on the automatic setting. The problem is the dryer spends all its time sensing the dampness of the clothes and never starts drying the clothes. I called the “help” number in the manual and a very nice lady on the other end suggested that I call the store that I bought it from. She had absolutely no idea how the product was supposed to work or what the settings were. Unfortunately when I called the Lowe’s they knew even less about how the thing is supposed to work. This is just a bad product. I am returning mine and trading it in for a GE. If you would like to contact me about this product my e- is jcarrigg@carrigglaw.com
