I purchase the Sharp Carousel Microwave R-530C because we accidently destroyed our Sharp Carousel Convection/Microwave Combo.

I want to say that the $ we used to buy the Combo was wasted. I thought I would use the convection, but was never satisfied with the way that it cooked. It was hard to figure out when to use what, when it was okay to use metal, etc. It would have a funny smell, and I would not know if I was using it incorrectly or it just worked that way. Don’t waste your money if you are considering a combination oven.

I am pleased with the quality of the sharp oven. It is durable, lasting for many years with no trouble from the manufacturing part. I like the turntable because it moves your food around for you and is easy to remove for cleaning.

I have noticed when heating tortilla chips with shredded cheese that some cheese melts faster than other cheese on the plate. Therefore I suspect "hot spots". Another item to be careful with is the reheat button. On some things the reheat button can run too long.

I like the one touch minute key to run things in minute increments. I also like the sensor cook things. They work well in defrosting and cooking.

For the price, every home should have one. I helped a refugee family that had no microwave, and believe me, until one is not available, you are not aware of how much help and convenience they add to a kitchen.
