Where to start!!

Purchased at Home Depot, Summer of 2007.

Immediate problems:

1. Icemaker only dispenses crushed ice. Only making these long “bars” of frozen cubes.

2. Icemaker not shutting off when full,

3. Frost on freezer food

4. Produce and stuff in the back of refrigerator section freezing. Had to throw away a lot of veggies and fruit!

5. Doors have to be literally YANKED to open

6. Doors don’t self close–you have to give a decent push to shut them.

7. Upper door rubbing at the base when closed at times

8. Handles come off in your hand periodically

A week after buying, we called LG, they don’t service their appliances. They referred us to call (ourselves) a “local” appliance repair company. Two guys come out a week or so later. DON”T even TOUCH the machine!!!! Say it needs a new motor, new fan.. they’ll call us. A few weeks pass without word. We call them. “Forgot” to order part! They need to send out ANOTHER two guys to check it again!! Another week– same guy, plus a new guy. Barely examine the unit. Order something different. Now, hubby and I don’t trust this company. We call LG (PHONE HELL, by the way– keep you on hold for 10-15 minutes— have to repeat your “case” constantly to every rep!!— give them all name, address, etc. over and OVER again!!)— they say service guys DID order part and that it was shipped. Hmm. Where’d it go then? We request NEW local company. Very nice company this time. They advise ordering a new icemaker. (Like another reviewer said–these LG appliances are new– guys aren’t that familiar with the units.)

Anyway– new icemaker comes about a month later. SAME ISSUES IMMEDIATELY!!! WE complain back to LG. They finally agree to send a replacement fridge. A month later. New Fridge. SAMMMMMMMMMMME @#!$^)(* PROBLEMS!!!!!

You can tell my frustration. We phoned LG now, January 2008, after many, many service calls, a new unit, complaining. Waiting to have “someone call us back tomorrow”. I am prepared to go to small claims court to get my money back!! Especially after reading how many other have been screwed!! Can anyone say, “class action suit”????
