You may be highly tempted to buy this beautiful piece of kitchen art but DON’T be sucked in. I read horrible reviews just like this one before I bought this piece of garbage & thought that all the horror stories had been from people who had just gotten a rotten apple. It won’t happen to me, I thought… well hahahaha.

We had the Ice2O delivered on 11/7, it broke, and I mean the thing just plain died on Sun 11/26 (yeah thats less than 20 days)… today is Tues 11/28 and we won’t even have the service guy that Maytag/Sears sent out this morning back with the correct part to fix it until Fri 12/1.

We have out of state company including my 1 year old niece here for the holidays & I can’t even keep milk for her. Not to mention the few hundred dollars worth of food that we just stocked up on that is now wasted & which costs will not be reimbursed by Maytag. The customer service at Maytag is REALLY BAD.

Bottom line, buying the extended warranty isn’t going to save you from the inconvenience of losing your food & time and gaining a massive headache.

Other than the fact that it broke, once I had this fridge in my home, the user un-friendliness of it really shone through. The actual usable space inside is much less than the space that I had in my old fridge. There is room for 1 (yes just one) tall item inside the fridge, the door does have the beverage compartment but in all reality, at least in our home, we usually have more large items… like a gallon of milk… without adjusting the shelves & basically losing use of one or more of them, there is no place for one of those in this thing. Oh yeah, and the deli drawer, unless you are catering parties every night, it is more a pain in the rear than a luxury.

What the other reviewers say about the ice & water in the door is right… the ice shoots out & you’ll be lucky to get 1 piece in the glass, the water shoots out with too much force as well. The fact that it does not make crushed ice is a real downer too.

Very alluring but not a smart buy!
