I decided this was the fridge that I wanted after researching it thoroughly online and in stores (as well as on epinions), because I wanted a stainless-steel, bottom-freezer, french-door refrigerator with water AND ice in the door. Then we happened to be so lucky as to find it on sale at Home Depot for $1799. I don’t know why it went on sale, but I imagine it must have been because they had a new shipment coming in and wanted to move their existing inventory, because it was only on sale for about 4 or 5 days and now it’s back up to about $2500. So, it was a steal of a deal and we could not be more happy!

We’ve only had it for about a week, but so far it’s everything we hoped for and more. You use your fridge so much more than your freezer, so it makes sense to have the freezer on the bottom and the refrigerator almost all at eye-level. Also, if you’re into entertaining, the extra width in the fridge is perfect for storing large cakes or appetizer trays! And as for all those people who complain in their that the ice maker doesn’t produce enough ice, I have no idea what they’re talking about because we’ve experienced no lack of ice whatsoever — furthermore, it has an IcePlus function which makes ice faster, along with an extra ice bin in the freezer compartment that you can fill with ice to keep as a backup in case the main ice dispenser runs out (which is great for parties!).

There are a few similar fridges out there, but the has the ice maker sitting on a shelf in the fridge (as opposed to the ’s ingenious inner-door placement), which seems to take up a lot of space; plus then you have the chute going from shelf to door and the inherent risk of stray ice cubes falling out when you open it. Also, there’s a new that seems almost exactly like this — I don’t know if they’re sister companies or what — but I definitely prefer the image (newer, sleeker, dare I say hipper?) over the (older, kinda boring, passe). Bottom line: They are all similarly designed and priced, but I would definitely recommend that you go with the !
