I have have several of these Amana with the freezer on the bottom. In our current house came with a side by side fridge. We had to leave our previous model at the old house. After 1 week with a side by side my husband & I looked at each other & said “Do you miss the Freezer on the bottom as much as I do?”

We bought the same exact one again, because the design is so practical. I estimate that 90% of the times you access the fridge it is to get something from the fridge compartment. Only about 10% of the time you access the freezer compartment. Since I have a problem with my lower back it hurts to bend over. With the fridge on top, 90% of the time I don’t have to. It just make more sense! Even if I did not have a back issue, I would prefer this design.

I also like how well the interior is designed. The racks on the door are modular & can be moved & repositioned easily, or taken out for cleaning. The shelves are also modular & attach at the back. Each shelf is only 1/2 the width, which means you have a lot more flexibility of arranging things to suit the items you have at the moment. The egg holder is the same as the ice tray. This is smart design!

The freezer has a pull out drawer, with a shelf above it. Everything is easy to get to. Bags of veggies etc in the drawer, boxes of ice cream & left overs on the shelf.

I like it very much!
