After reading the reviews here and elsewhere, I must admit I was very apprehensive about buying this dishwasher. I had first contacted a specialized seller of different brands of countertop dishwashers, and they recommended it, but then I saw all the negative feedback it had gotten.

Being desperate about the situation I still decided to buy, and the deciding factor was that Wal-Mart had a 3 month return policy, so even when ordering online, if I wasn’t satisfied I could just take it back to any Wal-Mart store for a full refund. So I placed my order and hoped for the best.

When the unit arrived, I was not pleased. It was all wet inside as if someone had used it once and returned it, and it also smelled bad, like a mix between mold and plastic. I was, as previously promised, offered a return for refund from Wal-Mart, but curiosity got me to at least want to try it out before sending it back, so I did.

I had absolutely no difficulty hooking up the unit to the faucet, this was very simple and easy to do. I also saw that they had re-taped the inside during shipping, so I had to remove all the tape (be careful, it’s easy to miss).

Since I have only had the unit for a few months, it is impossible to say anything about the durability and long term quality of this product. I have heard stories about them breaking on people, and that the tech-support and warranty of Haier is impossible to deal with, but luckily I have not had to go through any of this.

What I will say is that after a few months use, this dishwasher is working fine. The dishes are getting just as clean as with a regular dishwasher and it is saving me a lot of time because I don’t have to scrub dishes anymore. That’s exactly what I wanted to achieve when I bought it, so based on this, I can only recommend the unit to others who are looking for a solution to the same problem.

It is not as roomy as a regular dishwasher so at times I have to run it 2 or 3 times a day if I’ve been cooking, but the cycle is quite fast so this is not really a problem, and since I am not able to have a full size dishwasher, it is really the perfect solution to an imperfect situation.
