After building our new house and being supplied with a builders grade GE dishwasher, we decided to replace that sucker right away–it didn’t clean and was so L O U D that we couldn’t hear the TV in our adjoining living room.

After reading the reviews, and being pleased with our BOSCH fridge (see my review of ours) we decided to go and get the dishwasher, on sale at Lowes.

Now, I read the reviews, everyone saying how quiet this thing is. I expected quiet operation, but I thought that most people may have exaggerated how quiet it is.

People, I gottah tell you, this thing is so absolutely quiet that when we ran it the first time, we didn’t think it was “really” working! I don’t know how Bosch engineered this thing, but there must have been some very picky German scientists at work tuning this thing to be as quiet as possible. I mean, for Pete’s sake, when it drains, the water gurgling down the sink drain is roughly twice as loud as this thing is RUNNING.

We’ve run through several loads now, and the cleaning is spectacular, so far. Baked on pizza cheese? G-o-n-e.

Casserole pans? What-ever. Our glasses also come out sparkling.

Now, here’s the scary part:

This is NOT the quietest Bosch on the market. Ours is the 51Db model, and they have one that runs at 42Db, I think.

Obviously, somewhere in New Mexico in 1944 someone captured a downed UFO and reverse engineered the on-board dishwasher.

If you are debating between the Bosch and some other brand, do yourself a favor and just buy this one. We are extremely pleased with ours–perhaps a little so much so for normal, educated, adults.

The only problem is that now I’ve got to spend more money and go get the Bosch washer/dryer, microwave, and range.
