One of my only great concerns when I bought this dishwasher was regarding the faucet attachment. I found a comment made in Nov. of 2004, as well as another about a year or 2 ago, (and others on other sites) and these comments addressed the cheap, horrible, disastrous faucet attachment. I didnt make light of the comments or dismiss them, but still I couldnt find another model with comparable pricing, praising, etc., so I still went with this hoping that I wouldnt have to deal with many issues.

I was super excited to get it (I would rather scrub a toilet and change 10 poopy diapers before doing the dishes by hand because they become so overwhelming SO fast)! It was quite a bit harder to get dishes in there in a functional way than a standard dish washer, but what can I really expect from an 18 inch portable I suppose. I also had the same plasticky smell continuing that one of the other people commented on.

THe real problem is that after 2 washes only (just like the other fellow) THe faucet attachment broke in the rinse cycle of the 3rd load! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! No. No.

Now, I am still waiting for Danby to send me a replacement part. Just when I was finally catching up from not having a dishwasher, I again, do not have a functioning dishwasher.

Here is my main complaint. I think, for what it is, this seems to be a pretty decent and worthwhile machine for those of us that cannot currently live in the ideal “standard built-in” dishwasher world. BUT, I am really dissapointed that after so many people have had this VERY SAME FAUCET ATTACHMENT PROBLEM for the past few YEARS,Danby has not seemed to listen to their consumer or even take a hint by how many people have had to call in for faucet quick attachment replacement parts (and numerous times at that). THEY should have improved there attachment–made it totally out of metal, designed some better ball bearing system, something!
