I bought this set (1814 and 2514) about a month or so ago. It replaced a top loading Kenmore set - vintage 1996.
We have a pier and beam house, and the utility room has been recently remodeled with slate over hardibacker. We’ve had no problems with excessive vibrations, which is really more of a washer issue.
The wash cycles are longer than the old top loader, but the dryer cycle is much much less. I can now complete 3-5 loads in one day. With the previous machines I could complete maybe 2 loads in a day.
The dryer makes an average amount of noise, and has the sensor drying, which I’ve found to work about the same as my old dryer. It has a nice large opening.
I have not had any need for customer service.
I am very pleased with the washer and dryer, and would purchase them again.
I would not buy this unit again even though it has pros and cons during the year and a half I have owned it:
Pros:
-Large capacity drum handles any load.
-Good selection of options.
-Runs quiet when its working.
-Very sharp looking unit with matching dryer in main floor laundry room.
Cons:
-For no reason, it stops at 6 minutes, then stays there forever. You can’t dry a load if you are going out. Unplug and plug back in and its OK till next time. Repair man was out but had no solutions. He is returning today.
-Main drum bearing seems to be shot, and goes into super vibrate mode during every dry cycle.
-The dry sensor needs to be cleaned often or you will have lots of Barbie clothes.
Repair man did come out and found the dryer rollers were worn out, apparently the white ones are inferior, and the dry/sensor was not functioning at all. Both parts ordered.
I’ve been using this dryer for over 6 weeks now and find that with regular clothing, the cloth is dry but some towels, they still come out a bit humid.
Bought the LG WM1814CW Front Loading Washer and LG DLE2514W Electric Dryer Package from Future shop last fall.
Don’t expect too much from dryers aside from they dry your clothes properly. Only complaint I have is the dryer supposedly has an intellisense whereas it’ll stop once the clothes are dry. Many times I’ve gone down and the dryer timer says theres only 6 mins left. Go down 1/2 hour to an hour later and it’s still going (and the timer now says there about 20 mins left). Stop the dryer to check on the clothes and they’re TOTALLY dry
Paid $2000 CAD for washer & dryer set.
Picked up this unit at Home Depot…gift promo, rebate and 10% coupon made it impossible to pass up…unit works flawlessly…clothes are dried to just the proper level…dries quickly as well…the interior light is a nice touch…ability to vent four different ways: left, straight, right or down (note, the gas version will not allow for right venting)…very simple to use…looks great…could not be happier.
